Description
A picturesqure EF2 tornado which occurred near the town of Campo, Colorado (in the extreme southeastern Colorado) on Memorial Day 2010 (May 31, 2010). The tornado stayed over mostly open country. As a result, it did relatively little damage with no injuries. This photograph was taken while standing on the Oklahoma/Colorado border looking north..

Ed – holy cowabonga! What an amazing capture! So this is what an EF2 tornado looks like. I hope to never see one up close. That is scary. So glad to hear it was pretty much on open country and that you were not effected. Very well composed! L/V.

you may call this an EF2 but I call it holy crap! Great catch glad we didn't find you in Kansas after this L/F
Ed Sweeney replied:
Thanks, Jeff! Yeah, "only" an EF2 is a highly relative term with estimated maximum winds of 111-135 mph. Honestly, I believe it would have had a higher rating if it had hit an area with more infrastructure, but thankfully it didn't.
